Coached baseball thirty years, fourteen at Loogootee, twelve of which was as the head coach and sixteen years as the head coach at Princeton High School. His overall record at the varsity level is 452-289 a .610 winning percentage. His successes included eleven sectional titles, three regional titles, and seven conference championships.
During the summer, for thirteen years he managed the Princeton Post 25 Legion team to a record of 263-175, a .601 win percentage. This included eight sectional and one regional title in 1990 in which the team finished third in the state.
Tim coached basketball for thirty years at various levels. His fourteen year JV record was 215-61, an impressive .779 win percentage. He was the assistant coach at Loogootee in 1970 and 1975 when the small school basketball power advanced to the Final Four.
He is a charter member of the Indiana High School Baseball Coaches Association and has served on various committees in that organization including the presidency in 1998. His induction into the Indiana Baseball Hall of Fame came in 1994, and he retired from teaching and coaching in 1998, after thrity-four years. Tim dedicated his plaque to Lester Page, his little league, summer league coach and long-time principal at Loogootee High School. Tim is married to the former Joyce Bockelman of Jasper and they are the parents of three children, Jill, Audrey, and Terry.
