Biography: 

Coach O’Neil spent 33 years as a head coach.  Eleven of those years were at South Bend St. Joseph and twenty-two years were at South Bend Clay High School.  During that time he had a record of 545 wins, 352 losses, and 6 ties.  He won seven Sectional championships, three Regional titles, and one Northern Indiana Conference crown.

He is a graduate of LaPorte High School where he was captain and MVP of the 1971 state championship team.  He went on to continue his baseball career at Ball State University.  He has been a district rep for the IHSBCA, served on numerous committees and was as All-Star Coach in 2008.  He coached nine North All-Stars during his tenure and has been named conference coach of the year.  He also served as president of the IHSBCA.
