The Indiana High School Baseball Coaches Association have added five more former players, coaches and others with ties to Indiana and significant contributions to the game of baseball during its 2013 induction ceremony on Jan. 25 2013. We are proud to announce that one of those new members include Billy McCool. Here is a short profile of his accomplishments.
BILLY McCOOL (selected by the Veterans Committee):
Born in Batesville, he was a left-handed pitcher signed by the Cincinnati Reds as an amateur free agent in 1963. He played from 1964-70 with the Reds, Padres and Cardinals. He pitched in 292 games with a 3.59 ERA and was an All-Star in 1966 as a 21-year-old with the Reds.
