Currently Don is still the head coach at Huntington North High School. He has completed 36 years as a head baseball coach.

To date, 1999, his teams have compiled a 608—302 overall record which has included 9 Olympic Conference Championships, 14 IHSAA sectional titles, 3 regional titles and one semi-state title. The semi-state title led to a 1992 State Final Four appearance and a State Runner-up trophy.
