"Rosey" enters his 43rd year with the White
Sox organization and 23rd season as the teams traveling
secretary, which ranks him second in tenure among traveling
secretaries. In 1991 he was voted the Traveling Secretary of the Year
by major league baseball.
Glen began his professional career in 1955 when he signed with the
White Sox and pitched professionally for 11 years compiling a 98-42
minor league record. In 1968 he joined the Sox as their batting
practice pitcher and continued until a shoulder injury ended his
pitching career in 1989. In 1983 he was voted the best batting
practice pitcher in the majors by Sports Illustrated poll of major
league hitters and was selected the batting practice pitcher for the
1983 A.L. All-Star Team. He also served as a coach under managers
Chuck Tanner in 1974-75, and in 1986 under managers Tony LaRussa and
Jim Fregosi.
Glen is married to the former Shirley Liggett and they have one
child Scott Walter. Glen and Shirley still make their home in the
small northern community of Union Mills, Indiana and he makes the 130
mile round trip to Comiskey Park each day.
