He was the varsity baseball coach at Garfield High School and later
North High School, both in Terre Haute. In 1974 Terre Haute North was
the State Champions and was the State
Runners-up in 1983. Don Coached in three North-South All-Star
Series. He served as president of the IHSBCA in 1980-81 season.
In 1987 he was selected as Region 4 Coach of the Year for the
National High School Athletic Association.
Don was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1988.
